 Thankyou for your interest in the Professional Piercers school of body piercing. This is a brief outline of what to expect on the course and what it will cover. The course is a week long and if you are not within travelling distance of Swadlincote in Derbyshire take a look at the accomodation link for accommodation in the area. This will be additional to the cost of the course as accommodation is not included in the fees. The course covers theory and practical aspects of basic body piercing and covers eyebrow, madonna, lip, labret, conch, diath and daith, earl, scaffold, nose, ears, tongue, nipple and navel. Genital piercing is not included in this course but training for this is available on an advanced training course.

Professional Piercers Training Course Curriculum.

1.       Studio Requirements to  New Environmental Health standards.

2.       Studio and equipment hygiene and sterilisation.

3.       Safe use of equipment, general safety and work.

4.       Body piercing placements e.g. names and positions.

5.       Correct measurements and placements of jewellery.

6.       Suitable types & grade of jewellery, correct sizes for specific piercings.

7.       Suitability of metals for body jewellery.

8.       Customer care, health records and risk assessment.

9.       Body piercing aftercare.

10.     Minor emergencies and how to deal with them.

11.     Possible problems and the advice to give. e.g. Allergies, rejections.

12.     Body piercing instruction and observation of piercings.

13.     Practical body piercing experience while at Professional Piercers studio (under supervision) and a practical test.

14.     Theory work in our relaxed training room. A full set of notes to keep.

15.     Students will be asked to keep notes and record the piercings they perform in the course of their work there on.

16.     Use of anaesthetics.

   A pass certificate will be awarded after completing the 5 day course subject to satisfactory knowledge being gained enabling an attainment of a pass rate of at lease 80% on the theory test paper and a satisfactory assessment of practical ability.


 The certificate is a personal merit at the time of issue and will not apply to any other than the person named on it. It will not apply to the studio where the person is employed. It qualifies the person not the premises.


 There will be a maximum of  3 students on any one piercing training,

 You will also during the week be given help and advice on setting up your studio and which equipment to buy and suppliers to buy from.                      

 If you have a studio and wish more than one person to have piercing training please contact us to discuss training at your own studio.

 The total cost of the course is £650 for the week, a non-refundable deposit of £100 is required before the booking can be taken, please check the link for available course dates to find out what dates we have for training.

If you wish to do the Dermal Anchor training course as well this is still covered in the 5 days and a discount of £50 is offered, therefore total cost for both courses is £750. A  deposit of £150 secures your place on both courses and the balance of £600 is payable before or on arrival of the course.

How would you like to become a body piercer?

Train to be a body piercer, start your own business.  Or maybe you already have a business and feel that adding body piercing to your present services will boost your income or attract more business!  This course is ideal for tattooists, beauticians, jewellers, new age shops or maybe even hairdressers! How many times have you been asked "do you do body piercing?"  especially if you do ear piercings or tattooing! 

The course is a full week course, 5 days - 10am until 4pm each day!  At the end of the course  (*subject to you passing all the theory and practical tests)  you will receive a certificate of achievement** issued by Professional Piercers for you to display on your studio wall for local authorities and clients to see.

**Please note -   I have received several enquiries regarding the certificate given to you at the end of the course and asking why it is not a diploma!!! A diploma should only be issued by a university but the word diploma and certificate are one and the same and if you prefer me to issue the certificate with the word diploma on it instead I can do this!!! The certificate issued is recognised by local authorites and insurance companies!!! Also this is the only course where you will be a registered member of the Professional Piercers Association (UK) , please do not hesitate to call me to discuss this further.

What is included in the course fees!

5 days trainings, which will cover theory and practical :

*Studio hygiene, preparation and by-laws.

*Jewellery - sizing, understanding and placement.

*First aid, contra-indications, aftercare.

*How to deal with clients, setting up a business, purchasing stock.

*You will be piercing real people whilst on the course!

*You will receive notes and a manual to keep.

*You will  be given practical and theory tests throughout the course.

*All refreshments and lunch is included.

*There are no extra costs for piercings you have during the course.

*You will learn to pierce all above the belt piercings....Navels, Nipples, Ears, Eyebrow, Labret, Madonna , Lip, Labret, Tongue, Erl, Septum, Diath and Daith, Conch, Tragus, Rook, Nose, Scaffold .

Use of piercing gun is also covered.
